What is a Brain Injury?

A brain injury is an event or injury affecting the brain and its functions.  It is an injury that can happen immediately or become more evident as time passes after the initial injury.  Most commonly, traumatic brain injuries (TBI)  are acquired during motor vehicle accidents, falls, sporting activities, and domestic altercations.
