What’s a girl to do after being ditched at the altar by text message? That’s right. Text. Message.
How does she pick up the pieces and move on? I’m no Dear Abby but here’s a little free advice…
Advice #1 – First, purge your apartment of all things him—by tossing his belongings off the balcony.
Advice #2 – Do not, I repeat do not, throw anything out into the hallway because you’ll injure your hot new neighbor.
Advice #3 – When said neighbor brings over Chinese Food do not let him stay and keep you company. It’s awkward when you realize he’s your boss.
Advice #4 – Accept his offer to help you with your side business but think twice before using a date to his sister’s wedding as collateral.
Advice #5 – Investigate who your mystery neighbor really is. Don’t trust his word even if he’s the world’s best kisser.
If you listen to nothing else, pay attention to that last one. It’s the most important and will save you a lot of heartache.
LOVESICK IN LAKE STARLIGHT
A slow-hot burn unlike any other, these friends to lovers not only had a hot connection but a sweet one at that.
Unbeknownst to everyone in town, newcomer to all things Alaskan, Wyatt has something to prove when he arrives in Lake Starlight. Another world apart from his fast paced life in New York, he can’t help but be charmed and intrigued by his new neighbor, Brooklyn Bailey.
Fresh off a very public break-up, while being left at the alter via text, Brooklyn isn’t looking for love nor does she want to be coddled by her loving yet sometimes overbearing family. So when she seeks solace away from everyone and everything she surprises herself when she lets down her guard and becomes fast friends with her new hot neighbor.
Soon these two friends begin to see one another in a new light and force one another to look at the future in a way that they didn’t see coming. With the large Bailey family shenanigans and this friends-to-lover story that will keep you wanting more, your heart and mind will be in for a treat!
As Always, Happy Reading!
She says she needs some help ... in the bedroom.
Come again? No, really come again.
Sweet, nerdy, lovable Keaton.
She's my best friend and has been for years. Sure she likes numbers and math, and thinks doing other people's taxes is fun. And I like ... none of that stuff. She's obsessed with her cat and reads novels I'll never understand, and yet we just click. There's no one I'd rather share breakfast burritos with or binge watch hours of Netflix. She's my person. And so when she takes off her glasses and asks me to help her improve her skills in the bedroom, I barely have to think about it.
Of course I'll help her. There's no one better for the job.
I've been there for her through everything, why should this be any different?
But what happens when she's ready to take her new-found confidence and move on?
Kendall Ryan has written some of my favorite books. From the stories of the sexy-vixen heroines with the leading alpha males, to her near perfect rom-coms, I have loved them all. This book, however, is the one that has captured my heart in an entirely different way. This, best-friends to lovers story had everything a romance fan could ask for and so much more.
I could go on and on about how much I loved both the characters of this book and the story itself. I could just sense a bit more behind Kendall’s writing in this particular story, it seemed extra special.
As those closest to me know, I love to talk, and I have been reminded, on more than one occasion, that there are times when saying less, says more. I would rather you experience this one for yourself.
I feel like this is a time for me to say less. I encourage you to let your heart and mind be swept up and go on this little getaway of sorts. Let your own thoughts about this book speak to you.
For those lucky enough to fall in love or be in love at this moment; I hope with all of my heart, that your loved one is also your very best friend.
